Candle Care
Our Wax
All Akomapa candles are made with 100% soy wax, paired with lead-free cotton wicks, and hand-poured in Houston, TX. Soy wax burns cleanly and evenly, helping you get the most out of every candle.
Fragrance & Scent Throw
Each candle is blended with high-quality fragrance oils to deliver a rich, consistent scent experience.
Once lit, the scent gradually fills the room as the wax pool develops. For the best hot throw, allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the jar on the first burn (typically 2–3 hours). This prevents tunneling and ensures an even, full-room scent experience throughout the life of the candle.
Burn Time
Our candles have a burn time of 30–45 hours, depending on candle size, burn conditions, and how well the wick is maintained between uses. To maximize burn time:
-
Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn.
-
Burn in sessions of no more than 4 hours at a time.
-
After each burn, allow the candle to cool fully before relighting.
Safety
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
-
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
-
Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials, curtains, and drafts.
-
Burn in a well-ventilated room, but avoid direct drafts or fans, which can cause uneven burning and reduce scent throw.
-
Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time — extinguish, allow to cool, trim the wick, then relight.
-
Stop use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains in the jar.
-
Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings and debris.
